35. Unnamed Hat: started August 14, 2017; finished August 24, 2017

I've finished up the hat that I had started and I've added all the yarn dyeing I did. Actually, I added all the yarn dyeing I did as one entry because there are no stash pages for it (yet - I might make them....but not yet). In any case, here's me modeling the new hat (don't mind the ends not woven in or the mint-flavored  lifeline that I hadn't removed yet).

It's currently still drying. I didn't stomp the water out in a towel so it's taking a little longer to dry. Oh well.

10. Garter Stitch Baby Blanket: started July 6, 2017
11. Veggie Socks: started July 6, 2017
12. New Hat Design (for the unnamed hat above): started August 14, 2016

I had a few projects come out this week. Obviously the hat in the FO section because, well...I finished it. I also worked on the Vanillaish Rainbow Socks, the Garter Stitch Baby Blanket, and the hat design for the aforementioned hat.

I only got through a few rounds of the sock during swimming lessons and, obviously, I'm still on the cuff...but progress is still progress.

The blanket continues to grow but I've finished up the first ball of yarn, which is exciting. I have three more to use and I have no idea how larger or small this blanket is going to wind up being in the end. And I have no idea what I'm going to do with it.

Moving along.......

This past week was Little Man's first full week of school. It was different. We had a good schedule worked out when he was in Kindergarten. The boys and I would walk to school and be there by 8am, do drop off at 8:15am for Little Man, Stormageddon and I would walk home, get in the car and go to the gym (be there at 9am), do a workout, be showered and such by 11am (11:30am at the latest), leave to pick up Little Man at noon, pickup was at 12:30pm, and we'd be home by about 1pm. It worked. Then we could get on with all the other things in life.

With Little Man not getting out of school until 2:35pm, we have an extra two hours (which includes lunch), which is throwing us off. But, it does give me two extra  hours to work on stuff for the auction without Little Man. He's self-sufficient but when he's done with school, he wants to hang out and have attention, which is perfectly fine and normal. So, those extra two hours are kind of a blessing. However, we're still working on getting settled into the schedule.

Monday started out like this:

This has been going on for at least five months now. Unfortunately, he's gotten a bit more....well, he likes to try to sleep sideways in the bed, which does not work for either Husband or I. It's a good thing he's cute.

Also, Monday gave parts of North America an eclipse (or a partial eclipse). Here in the Bay Area, we got a partial eclipse. Unfortunately, it was cloudy for most of it but it did clear out enough so you could see part of it. I did get a couple photos...sort of. None of them were all that good. Oh well. Stormageddon was not interested (other than wondering why I kept going outside and taking photos of the sky). He was busy watching Masha & the Bear.

The rest of the week was pretty benign, actually. I did some work for the auction, Husband worked from home on his usual day, Little Man got creative with Legos.....

Apparently that is a Wither (it's from Minecraft). He was building a bunch of different Minecraft things out of Legos (of his own making, not the sets). He even put together a couple sets of his own.

On Thursday, Little Man and I spotted this little moth on our walk home from school. I think it must be moth season or something because there are many around, and not just the white ones I'm used to seeing, obviously. If anyone knows what this one is.....

On Friday morning, Stormageddon and I had a coffee date with some of the other moms/dads we know from school. Little booger stole my hat and it was too cute not to photograph.

I actually have one of him in my hat and my sunglasses but you can clearly read the school on the hat soooooo, I opted not to share that one.

Later that day, I discovered we were out of dog food so we made a trip to Target where, of course, he wanted to sit on the ball.

Yesterday, Husband's windshield was supposed to get fixed but when the guy got there to pick up the windshield, it wasn't there....so they're having to reschedule. ::sigh:: But, it meant our afternoon was free so we went to the local Chili Cookoff & Homebrew Competition. Husband met some of the guys from one of the local homebrewer's associations....and he's joining because why not. We also ate good chili, the boys played on one of those inflatable slides, and even I drank beer. Oh, and we saw someone super famous in disguise (Husband called him out on it in private as he was shaking his hand. Husband said, "Sorry sir, your prosthetics are showing," and he was like, "Oh shit...I was really hoping no one would be able to tell" and Husband told him that he wasn't going to out him and that it was quite good). I recognized the voice but I couldn't place it, which drove me nuts. Husband told me in the car and I felt like an idiot. ::sigh:: But, I'm not going to out him either.

So, that's our benign week. I hope you're all having a lovely weekend. I think we're going out for fancy dinner tonight. It's the other "half" of my win from this past school year's auction wherein I went to the Sheep to Shawl event at Elkus Ranch as part of my winning bid. The other part was a gift certificate for one of the restaurants nearby. We've been there once before and it was really good. So, we're going again.

I hope to have an FO Friday post this week, if only because there are yarns that were dyed....we'll see.
